Environmental Health Coalition is a San Diego/Tijuana non-profit social and environmental justice organization dedicated to empowering people, organizing communities, and achieving justice for low-income communities of color. We are an effective, results-oriented organization with a passion for social change. Air Quality Director

The Air Quality Director (AQD) is a position for an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment working with community organizers, allied organizations to influence government policies to achieve environmental justice through air quality improvement. The AQD works to advance policies and projects that reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from transportation and stationary sources, focusing on heavy-duty freight and industrial sources. The AQD focuses on low-income communities of color where these sources are disproportionately located and works with community leaders to identify key issues and community-driven solutions. The AQD conducts policy advocacy to influence local governments and state regulatory and legislative bodies to reduce impacts in low-income communities of color in the San Diego region.


Organizing Director

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior-level community organizer committed to racial and environmental justice. The Organizing Director plays a key role in developing a strategy for the neighborhood and regional campaigns. This includes oversight and supervision of staff organizers, designing and implementing regional base and power building strategy and tactics, and directing civic engagement work with immigrant communities and communities of color.
