EHC is working with community members to ensure San Diego’s updated Climate Action Plan helps the communities hurt most by climate change first and includes goals to reduce air pollution that contributes to climate change.
What is the Climate Action Plan (CAP)?
It is a plan that decides where and how the City will spend millions of dollars to combat the climate crisis.
Why Does it Matter?
San Diego’s low-income communities of color, like Barrio Logan and City Heights, breathe some of the most polluted air in the state. This pollution damages our lungs making it hard to breathe, it is also connected to long-term illnesses and low birth weight. This same pollution makes climate change worse.
Our communities are long overdue for:
- more trees
- parks
- clean trucks
- clean transit
